2007 RESOLUTIONS

Back

Alfred

Before we get into 2007, here is a recap of 2006. Alfred's main resolution was to get back in shape. Eventhough he had started running regularly in 2005, he didn't see any results. He was still 35lbs overweight and had high cholestoral/blood pressure. To say he was a little discouraged would be putting it mildly. However, 2006 was destined to be a year of change for Alfred. It started with a new job and a renewed dedication to get back in shape. How did he do?

With the help of a WeightWatchers program through work and continued running, he was able to lose 15lbs. All told, he ran 600+ miles which included 1 12K (Over The Bay in SF), 1 5K (Carlsbad 5000), and 2 Half-Marathons (AFC and SilverStrand). As a result, he was able to lower his cholestoral and blood pressure enough his doctor allowed him to stop taking medication!

Professionally, he wanted to be a significant contributer to his team and have a positive impact. Based on his reviews, he was able to do this. His other professional goal was to complete the 10 required Toastmasters speeches and become a Competent Toastmaster. Because of work schedule conflicts, he wasn't able to attend the last 3 months and only finished 5 speeches.

Alfred's goals for 2007.

Madison

In 2006, Madison had the daunting resolution of stopping a habit she has had probably before she was born [at her insistance, said habit will remain a secret]. She did pretty well; Overall, she abstained from this habit more than she indulged.

For 2007, she is keeping the same resolution and adding the following:

Camille

In 2006, Camille's resolution was to not act like a 'brat' [scowls, grunts, furrowed eyebrows, pouting, crying] when she was mad or frustrated. Instead, she was going to try and use words to explain how she was feeling. Although she did have some episodes, she did a better job of explaining why she was mad or upset. Also, she was going to try and stop itching [Not really her fault, she has exzyma]. She did really well with this one. With the help of daily medicine, lotion and the wearing gloves at night, the open patches of exzyma are almost gone.

For 2007, Cammile hasn't really thought about any new resolution and will continue the 2006 resolutions.
