In 2002, Alfred wanted to do something adventurous with the girls and decided to go on a 4x4/camping trail run to Death Valley. The trip was organized by, Terry Johnson, the president of a local 4x4 club (the 9th Annual Death Valley run). Terry has organized these trips to explore interesting places in the back country of Death Valley like abandoned mines, ghost towns, unique geological features and 4x4 trails

Alfred and Madi had such a great time that they decided to make it a tradition; it is now the annual Balagtas Dad-n-Daughter trip. Alfred gets to spend quality time with the Madi and Cami while Lyn gets time to spend on her own.

There is section in the video which is overlayed with still pictures. Alfred accidently left the camcorder on while leaving Madi in the truck to checkout damage someone did to their jeep. The image was just the center console of the truck, but the audio caught Madi talking. She sounds very cute for a 2yr old. Although she was by herself for 10 minutes, Alfred removed most of the dead space.
